“Reading Assignments Are Not a Boogeyman”
Organized by the NU Library “Grigor Prlichev” and the Lions Club DENICA, the creative event “Reading Assignments Are Not a Boogeyman” was held as a mini-promotion of the book Reading Is Not a Boogeyman by the authors Ljubica Kardaleska-Radojkova, Tatjana Srceva-Pavlovska, Gabriela Nedelkoska, Sandra Serafimovska, and Ana Arsovska — members of the academic staff at AUE-FON University — as well as of the handbook Reading Assignments Are Not a Boogeyman, which is based on research related to the concept and significance of school reading assignments in the era of digitalization and artificial intelligence.
Both publications have already been catalogued and prepared for borrowing by our readers. The moderator and creator of the event was Assistant Professor Dr. Gabriela Nedelkoska. Together with third-year students from SOSU “St. Cyril and Methodius” and their Macedonian language and literature teacher, Marija Strezovska, the participants explored the required reading work Money Is Murderous by Risto Krle. Through acting, reading, and drawing, the students once again reflected on the essence, content, and message conveyed by the socio-realistic drama Money Is Murderous, written by the Struga-born playwright Risto Krle and based on a true story.
