HISTORY

American University of Europe – FON: A Leader in Higher Education

The American University of Europe – FON (AUE-FON) is an independent, private, non-profit institution of higher education and research, with a rich history dating back to 2003. Originally founded as the Faculty of Social Sciences by Mr. Fiat Canoski, it pioneered private education in North Macedonia. In 2007, the institution expanded its academic offerings and became the country’s first private university, establishing departments in Strumica, Gostivar, and Struga. Today, it continues to operate its Struga department.

In line with global trends and student demands, the university underwent a rebranding in 2020, adopting the name American University of Europe – FON. This transformation has allowed the institution to further set new benchmarks in higher education.
