From Thesis to Publication: “Silent War” Opens a New Chapter in Macedonian Comics

On October 7, 2025, a promotion of the comic “Silent War” by Metodija Stojanovski, an alumnus of the Faculty of Design and Multimedia at the American University of Europe – FON, was held at “Bukva.” The publisher is Čudna Šuma, marking their first release by a Macedonian author in the comic/graphic novel genre. The promoters of the event were Biljana Crvenkovska and Prof. M.A. Antonio Aranđelović.

The comic “Silent War” was originally created as Metodija Stojanovski’s graduation project, under the mentorship of Prof. M.A. Antonio Aranđelović, who emphasized:

“The visual realization of the comic abounds in exceptional craftsmanship, composed of Metodija’s gentle yet masterfully woven line, enriched with tonal gradations that precisely capture the atmosphere meant to immerse us in the magic of the narrative, patiently and carefully feeding us bite by bite through the story.”
